Project Brief:
The client’s main objective was minimal down time. The approach to this development was minimise down time to 6 weeks. The project was approached and programmed by phasing the site redevelopment into two criteria’s.

  • Phase 1: New substructure and superstructure for the sales building and carwash prior to site closure and demolition of the old buildings.
  • Phase 2: Demolition of existing forecourt, installation of tanks and services.

Our Approach:
The 1st stage of works involved moving the shop sales area into a temporary building, allowing for safe clearance to the rear of the site and demolition of the existing sales building. These works were carried out over a 2 week period. This was followed by the installation of the new building foundations and superstructure including for the new attached rollover carwash building. Once these works were at shell stage the rest of the site was decommissioned and demolitions took place. The remainder of the site development which included the tank pipework and drainage installations and new forecourt were carried out over the following 6 weeks

The end result was a new site constructed to modern day standards completed in 12 weeks as agreed program. The clients sales are now approaching the 8 million litres p.a level. BP are very pleased with the site built and are even more amazed at how we managed to build it at a fraction of their own rebuild costs, and within the time framed achieved
